The Defense Department’s 2023 Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence Adoption Strategy represents the next step forward in military readiness. It builds on the 2020 DoD Data Strategy, which called for DoD to become a data-centric organization that can employ data in support of increased efficiency and operational advantage.
Improving data management is essential to the department’s vision for AI because “all analytic and AI capabilities require trusted, high-quality data,” the strategy states. The strategy calls for enterprise data management activities to be oriented toward the goals of the VAULTIS framework.
